Singapore-based distributor Bomanbridge Media has sold multiple Care Bears TV movies and two series from IP owner American Greetings Properties to Thai broadcaster, Bec Tero.
Among the pickups are 2D-animated Adventures in Care-a-Lot (26 x half hours) and 52 x half-hour Care Bears Classic Series. The deal also includes two 75-minute 2D-animated TV movies, Adventures in Wonderland and Big Wish, as well as three 75-minute 3D-animated movies—Care Bears: The Giving Festival, Care Bears: Share Bear Shines and Care Bears: To the Rescue.
The sale comes as AGP looks to further grow the popular consumer products-based property internationally after the company’s February sale of Strawberry Shortcake to Iconix. That change saw the company restructure its executive team and hire former Zodiak exec Karen Vermeulen as its new head of global sales and co-productions.
Care Bears content currently airs in more than 100 countries worldwide. New toy lines are rolling out this year, and a new original Netflix series, Care Bears and Cousins, is set to debut in 2016.
