The fourth-annual Asian Animation Summit is busily fielding entries that will yield 24 brand-new project pitches from across Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia and more.

Hosted by Korean cultural agency KOCCA, this year’s summit takes place from December 7 to 9 on South Korea’s Jeju Island at The Shilla Jeju five-star oceanfront resort.

Between 200 and 250 attendees are expected at this year’s event, which is designed to connect animation producers with Asian co-pro partners, broadcasters, distributors and investors.

Each day begins with a panel discussion or presentation looking at new market trends, business models or creative techniques relevant to Asian producers. Eight projects will be presented per day and there will also be plenty of time for meetings and networking opportunities.

An initiative of KOCCA (Korea), MDeC (Malaysia) and SIPA/DITP (Thailand), the three-day event is owned and produced by Kidscreen, and supported by Screen Australia.

Registration is now open and a US$200 early-bird discount is available until September 11. For more information visit www.asiananimationsummit.com.
