Former Viacom exec Vanessa Brookman is stepping into the newly created role of VP of content & creative, UK and Northern Europe at Turner Broadcasting, where she will execute content strategies for the company’s kids and general entertainment portfolio.

With a focus on the UK, Nordic and Baltic countries, Brookman will be responsible for channels, digital, creative and presentation teams consisting of around 50 people.

Based in the company’s EMEA headquarters in London, she will report to Turner’s SVP and MD, UK & Northern Europe Ian McDonough, who joined the company from BBC Worldwide last April.

At Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), Brookman was VP programming for MTV and 5* (UK cluster). While shew was at MTV, the channel grew its average audience share by 100% in five years. Prior to that, Brookman did a stint as head of fiction and children’s at BBC Vision.
