Disney Interactive and Paris-headquartered digital/social game publisher Gameloft are joining forces to create a new game that lets players build their very own theme park using iconic attractions in an animated landscape.

Inspired by US-based Disneyland and Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris and more, Disney Magic Kingdoms re-imagines the popular theme parks for mobile devices (iOS, Android, Windows Phone).

To bring hit attractions like Space Mountain, California Screamin’ and It’s a Small World into the game, Gameloft and Disney Interactive tapped Walt Disney Imagineering, the House of Mouse’s design and development arm.

Gameplay involves an exciting quest to save the park from evil Disney villains like Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent, Toy Story’s Emperor Zurg and Tangled’s Mother Gothel. Players can also interact with classic Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, Buzz Lightyear and Mike Wazowski.

Disney teased the new mobile game at D23 Expo but did not announce a release date.
