The changes keep on coming within the Corus Entertainment family.

More Canadian kids are now set to tune into Cartoon Network Canada now that the Corus-owned net has expanded its distribution to more than five million subscriber homes, thanks to pick ups from cablecos Rogers, Shaw and Shaw Direct.

It also means a programming shakeup for CN Canada and Corus mainstay net Teletoon. As part of the move, CN Canada will now be the exclusive broadcast home to Cartoon Network’s orignals slate, including Adventure Time (pictured), Clarence, Steven Universe and Teen Titans Go!  And a new season of Adventure Time will premiere on the net later this fall.

New episodes of returning series Uncle Grandpa, Clarence, Teen Titans Go!, The Amazing World of Gumball and Steven Universe will now air day-and-date with CN US programming for “Cartoon Network Thursday.” Recently launched original animated comedy We Bare Bears will also air on Thursdays.

What it means for Corus-owned Teletoon, is that its afternoon/evening lineup, which is currently chock-a-block with CN original programming, will cease to feature any CN originals as of September 7. Teletoon’s new weeknight lineup will kick off on Monday with the new reboots of Inspector Gadget (DHX Media) and ALVINNN!!!! and the Chipmunks, along with the Australian series Get Ace and new episodes of Lego Ninjago.

Later this fall, Teletoon will also premier Warner Bros.-produced Wabbit – A Looney Tunes Production and Be Cool Scooby-Doo! And the net’s new superhero programming block will lead with Disney fare, culled from its new output deal with the entertainment giant, including Ultimate Spider-Man, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.SH and Avengers Assemble.

Classic retro toons like The Bugs & Tweety Show, The Smurfs, Tom & Jerry Tales, The Flintstones and Looney Tunes will continue to air on Teletoon.

Cartoon Network Canada replaces Teletoon Retro’s spot on cable listings. Corus pulled the plug on the net last month. Featuring throwback cartoons such as Looney Tunes and Scooby-Doo, Retro ceased broadcasting on September 1. Disney Channel Canada, meanwhile, debuted on September 1. As part of the new deal, Corus also secured the English- and French-language rights to Disney Channel content in Canada, and the broadcaster locked up streaming and ad-supported VOD rights for certain titles in Disney’s programming portfolio.
