Global children’s publisher Scholastic has landed world rights to three Groovy Joe picture books, plus additional rights for board and novelty books, from author Eric Litwin and illustrator Tom Lichtenheld.

Groovy Joe follows the adventures of a cool, enthusiastic, music-loving dog who likes to learn new things and share his wisdom and playful spirit. Storytelling will include rhyme, repetition and other gentle learning concepts infused with music and movement.

The first title, Groovy Joe: Ice Cream and Dinosaurs, will be published in fall 2016. The impending Groovy Joe publishing franchise marks the first collaboration between Litwin and Lichtenheld, both of whom have New York Times bestseller credentials.
