The classic tales of the Arabian Nights are being re-told for a new generation of kids with the launch of 1001 Nights: The Untold Stories, a new series from Australian indie Chocolate Liberation Front (CLF), Germany’s Hahn Film and India-based Toonz Entertainment.
The first 13 eps of the tween-skewing 26 x 24-minute CGI-animated series will launch in early 2016. It is being produced for Australia’s Network Ten and ARD in Germany (represented by public broadcaster RBB) with Telepool/Global Screen on-board as distributor.
An original concept from Gerhard Hahn, the series features brave teen Sherazade on a quest to help her friend Karim, who has been unjustly dethroned by his own brother and turned into a big blue hairy monster. The two friends must escape from the Golden City and set off to find a cure for Karim.
