The Lion Guard animator will dish on Disney’s style at YMA conference

Disney's The Lion Guard supervising director Howy Parkins is set to dish out tips on series development and merchandise design to a crowd of youth TV and digital production professionals at next month's Children, Youth & Media (CYM) Conference in Toronto.

Disney’s The Lion Guard supervising director Howy Parkins is set to dish out tips on series development and merchandise design to a crowd of youth TV and digital production professionals at next month’s Children, Youth & Media (CYM) Conference taking place in Toronto, Canada.

Parkins will discuss the creative process, from development to launch, as well as production challenges surrounding the new series based on The Lion King movie, which is set to bow in early 2016 on Disney Channels and Disney Junior channels worldwide. Disney’s spinoff  movie, The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar, will debut on November 22 on Disney Junior in the US. 

The CYM Conference will take place from November 18 to 20 in Toronto, and full conference details are available here. The event is produced by industry org the Youth Media Alliance with contributions from CBC/Radio-Canada, the Canada Media Fund, the Independent Production Fund, the Bell Fund  and Portfolio Entertainment.
