Scholastic Reading Club and nonprofit organization We Need Diverse Books are partnering to offer more than 75 titles with diverse characters and storylines to American kids in grades four to eight.

Highlighting a mix of award-winning books, classics and new releases, the collection will be featured in a special edition of Scholastic Reading Club’s flyer that will reach more than 100,000 classrooms and 2.5 million students across the US ahead of the holidays.

The range of titles will showcase important themes about race, ethnicity, multiculturalism, religions, the LGBTQ community and individuals living with a disability. The goal is to offer students topics they can better relate too, while also helping others gain a better understanding and appreciation for people, cultures and experiences different from their own.

Teachers are responsible for submitting all book orders on behalf of their classroom, and each purchase earns reward points redeemable for books and other materials.
