DreamWorks Animation has tapped The Adventures of Tintin scribe Edgar Wright to direct and co-write, along with author David Walliams, an untitled animated film that’s centered around the concept of shadows.

The untitled project is taking an entirely new approach to DWA’s previously developed concept, Me & My Shadow, which was originally slated for a March 2014 release, but has been placed on hold.

The new shadows film marks the feature animation directorial debut for Wright, whose credits include Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Meanwhile, co-writer David Walliams is a comedian, actor, author, television personality and activist, who is known for his partnership with Matt Lucas on the BBC One sketch show Little Britain. Also a bestselling children’s author, Walliams’ books have sold more than 10 million copies to date.

DWA head of development Gregg Taylor and development exec Damon Ross will oversee the shadows project for the studio.
