Russian kidcaster Carousel has snapped up the rights to Entertainment One Family preschool series Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom. eOne has also appointed  local agent Megalicense to manage the consumer products program for the brand throughout Russia and the Ukraine.

Free-to-air channel Carousel has acquired series one and two (104 x 11 minutes) of Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom, with the show scheduled to start airing today.

Carousel also airs eOne’s Peppa Pig, which Megalicense currently represents across the region. The agent will now actively seek partners for Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom across multiple categories, with a planned product launch at retail from fall/winter 2016.

Plus, as part of its strategy to build a fanbase for the brand in Russia and the Ukraine, eOne has developed a localized Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom-branded website for the territory.

Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom is created by UK-based Astley Baker Davies, in which eOne took a 70% majority stake earlier this fall, and the series follows the adventures of fairy princess Holly and her best friend Ben Elf. The show has been sold to more than 160 territories worldwide and has been earmarked for growth as part of eOne’s large-scale expansion plans for its preschool portfolio.
