Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA has named Moscow-based Megalicense International as its licensing agent for Russia and the CIS region, effective January 1.

Under the agreement, Megalicense will build and manage the official licensing programs for Cartoon Network’s portfolio of original animated properties in Russia and CIS territories. Megalicense will also promote, assist and expand Cartoon Network’s existing L&M business in the region.

Key global Cartoon Network brands for Megalicense include The Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10 and Adventure Time.

Megalicense has scored a number of leading kids licenses as of late, including eOne’s Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom (Russia, Ukraine), Nelvana and Spin Master’s Little Charmers (Russia, CIS), as well as WBCP’s portfolio (Russia, CIS).

Cartoon Network, meanwhile, has also been busy in the past few months, recently launching its Cartoon Network Anything app in Southeast Asia and greenlighting a slate of Aussie originals.
