Barry Ziehl moves to Warner Bros.’ entertainment division

After 10 years as SVP of worldwide public relations and marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Barry Ziehl is moving to Warner Bros. Entertainment as SVP of public affairs and strategic initiatives.

After serving 10 years as SVP of worldwide public relations and marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Barry Ziehl is moving to Warner Bros. Entertainment as its SVP of public affairs and strategic initiatives.

Effective in the coming weeks, Ziehl will report directly to Warner Bros. EVP of worldwide corporate communications and public affairs Dee Dee Myers and is tasked with leading the company’s public affairs team, integrating Warner Bros’ philanthropy and sustainability initiatives into the company’s corporate values and business interests, and strengthening Warner Bros.’ brand reputation.

Working alongside executives like public affairs VP Michael Walbrecht, he will also manage Warner Bros.’ state and local government and community relations efforts.

In his previous role, Ziehl oversaw the global marketing campaigns for WBCP’s DC Entertainment properties including the company’s newest global franchise DC Super Hero Girls, which recently extended into books with Random House Books for Young Readers.

His responsibilities additionally covered PR for the global licensing, retail, promotional and marketing programs for WBCP and its affiliated entertainment brands including the launch of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Osaka and Hollywood.

Prior to WBCP, Ziehl led PR and marketing for the US Postal Service at its headquarters in Washington, D.C.
