Australia’s free-to-air Seven Network has snapped up animal- and wildlife-focused kids TV series ZooMoo for its 7TWO channel.
Targeting five- to seven-year-olds, the hybrid educational program from ZooMoo Networks, and its animal puppet hosts, teaches kids the value of the natural world through spectacular wildlife footage and animation.
ZooMoo comprises more than 500 hours of original content over 1,500 self-contained shows and provides a multiplatform experience directly tied to the free ZooMoo app for iOS and Andriod devices. The app lets users bring animals they have collected through encounters on the TV screen to life on their mobile devices in games, music, puzzles and other activities.
Developed by leading childhood learning specialists from New Zealand’s University of Otago, led by Professor Jeff Smith, ZooMoo helps kids learn about logistical reasoning, linguistics and spatial awareness, and encourages teamwork and problem-solving.
7TWO will broadcast the series weekdays at 7:00 a.m. from February 16.
The acquisition follows ZooMoo‘s recent launches in the US, Mexico and Latin America, and brings its worldwide audience to more than 160 million.
