Little People series to make US debut on Sprout

Coming out of a recent content pact forged between Mattel and DHX Media is a preschool series based on the Little People brand, which has been picked up for air in the US by 24-hour preschool network Sprout.

The first season of the Little People series, comprised of 52 x 11-minute episodes, will bow on the net March 7 and will air daily at 7:00 a.m.  The series will also be available via Sprout’s VOD and digital platforms beginning March 20.

Based on the original Fisher Price brand, Little People is an animated musical/comedy series that is rooted in the message of collaborative play. The series invites preschoolers to join five characters as they embark on various adventures that are inspired by their playful antics in a typical suburban backyard.

Aside from Sprout, the first season of Little People has already been sold to Cartoonito (UK), RTL (Netherlands), Discovery Kids (LATAM), E-TV (South Africa),TV Cultura (Brazil) Televisa (Mexico).

As part of its deal with Mattel, DHX will handle all future global distribution for the brand.
