DHX’s Family Channel in Canada has announced it will bow the original movie Ice Girls on March 11 at 8 p.m., with a cast featuring real-life figure skaters Elvis Stojko, Michaela Du Toit and Taylor Hinsley.
The film was shot in Ontario, Canada and follows the story of a figure skater named Mattie Dane (Du Toit) as she navigates her way through the world of competitive figure skating following a major injury.
Natasha Henstridge (The Whole Nine Yards, Would Be Kings) also stars in Ice Girls. Meanwhile, Tessa Virtue, who recently announced her return to international ice dance competition, will have an guest appearance in the movie.
Ice Girls was commissioned by DHX Television, and it was produced by Responsible Cinema in association with Tajj Media.
