Atlan to exit amid Splash executive reorg

Co-CEO and president of Kabillion Nicolas Atlan has left the company amid a re-org that will see Mike Young add the role of chairman to his current remit.

L.A.-based Splash Entertainment has announced promotions for co-CEO Mike Young, CFO and COO Steve Rosen and sales and digital distribution VP David Di Lorenzo, as well as the exit of Splash co-CEO and Splash-owned Kabillion VOD network president Nicolas Atlan.

In addition to his responsibilities as current co-CEO, Young has added chairman to his title and will work to grow the company’s recent success in the children’s business, with Rosen stepping into Atlan’s co-CEO role and Di Lorenzo taking over as the new president of Kabillion.

It is not yet clear what Atlan’s next move will entail, but the industry veteran is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities. Before entering the fold at Splash, Atlan was co-CEO and executive producer at Moonscoop in Paris.

The repositioning does not affect the roles of Liz Young and Mevelyn Noriega, who will continue to serve as president of Splash and head of Splash distribution, respectively.

Rosen has served as EVP, CFO and COO of Splash since 2003 and was instrumental in launching Kabillion, its digital network and Splash’s theatrical division, which just released its first animated feature Norm of the North, which Rosen produced.

Prior to joining Splash, Rosen was EVP & COO of indie producer/distributor Kushner-Locke Company.

Di Lorenzo came to Splash in 2007 as VP of sales and marketing and during his time helped establish the company’s digital business through relationships with Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. He’s also led Splash’s growth in international licensing and consumer products.

Di Lorenzo previously worked 11 years at Universal Studios in licensing and retail marketing for hit film franchises including Jurassic Park and Fast and Furious.

The latest moves come shortly after a new deal by Splash and Miami distributor TV Film International for the hit animated series Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch, Dive Olly Dive and Pet Alien.
