Brazil & India welcome Rainbow series

Brazil's TV Cultura has snapped up Rainbow's new series Regal Academy and Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends, while Winx Club readies for a debut in India.

Italian animation studio and licensor Rainbow has sold its new kids series Regal Academy (pictured) and Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends to Brazilian free-to-air network TV Cultura, while long-running hit Winx Club has sold to India’s Sun tv network.

Starting in December, TV Cultura will broadcast fairy tale-based Regal Academy and Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends in primetime slots in Sao Paulo and nationwide via its affiliates. The former series, originally entitled My American Friend and Rainbow’s first fully live-action show, targets tweens and kids ages six to 11. It follows the story of a 16-year-old girl who longs to be the world’s top fashion designer.

Maggie & Bianca will be the first-ever live-action drama to air on TV Cultura.

As for Winx Club, India’s Sun tv will broadcast seasons four through seven of the hit series via its four regional channelsChutti tv, Kochu tv, Kushi tv and Chintu tvacross Southern India in four different languages starting this June.

Winx Club currently reaches 150 broadcasters worldwide, representing more than 15 million viewers every day.
