Italian animation studio and licensor Rainbow has sold its new kids series Regal Academy (pictured) and Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends to Brazilian free-to-air network TV Cultura, while long-running hit Winx Club has sold to India’s Sun tv network.
Starting in December, TV Cultura will broadcast fairy tale-based Regal Academy and Maggie & Bianca Fashion Friends in primetime slots in Sao Paulo and nationwide via its affiliates. The former series, originally entitled My American Friend and Rainbow’s first fully live-action show, targets tweens and kids ages six to 11. It follows the story of a 16-year-old girl who longs to be the world’s top fashion designer.
Maggie & Bianca will be the first-ever live-action drama to air on TV Cultura.
As for Winx Club, India’s Sun tv will broadcast seasons four through seven of the hit series via its four regional channels─Chutti tv, Kochu tv, Kushi tv and Chintu tv─across Southern India in four different languages starting this June.
Winx Club currently reaches 150 broadcasters worldwide, representing more than 15 million viewers every day.
