UK productions Bing  and My Life: I Am Leo each took home International Emmy Kids Awards yesterday at the fourth annual event honoring the best of global children’s programming.

Animated property Bing (pictured) from co-producers Acamar Films and Brown Bag Films won in the Best Preschool category, while My Life: I Am Leo, a film about transgender children from Nine Lives Media, snapped up the Kids Factual Prize.

In the Kids Animation category, the Emmy went to Japanese production Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter from national broadcaster NHK, NHK Enterprises, Dwango and Polygon Pictures. This fantasy book-based series follows the survivalist adventures of a young girl born into a clan of forest-dwelling robbers.

For Non-Scripted Entertainment, NRK Norway’s teen-skewing reality sports series Best I Mest (All-Round Champion) earned the win.

Rounding out the other categories, the second season of live-actioner Nowhere Boys from Australia’s Matchbox Pictures won for Best Kids Series, and teen/family drama Rabarber (Rhubarb) from the Netherlands’ NL Film & TV and KRO-NCRV snapped up the Emmy for TV Movie/Mini-Series.

The presenting partners for the International Emmy Kids Awards, which for the first time took place at MIPTV in Cannes, France, are Shaw Rocket Fund (Canada), Jeemtv (Qatar), WDR mediagroup (Germany), Majid Entertainment (Abu Dhabi), TV Kids, Ernst & Young and Kids@MIPTV.
