Brand-new CGI preschool series Rainbow Ruby from South Korea’s CJ E&M will bow on DHX’s Family Jr. channel in Canada on April 23.

Co-produced by China Entertainment, in association with property distributor DHX Media, Rainbow Ruby follows the adventures of a six-year-old girl who transports to a magical world where her stuffed animals come alive. The series brings awareness to the need for girls’ education in developing countries through the titular character’s ability to excel in many different professions.

Following its debut, Rainbow Ruby will move to its regular 5:10 p.m. time slot as part of the network’s Monday Funday lineup starting April 25.

A dedicated Rainbow Ruby section on FamilyJr.ca will support the launch, and select episodes will be accessible on Family Jr. OnDemand from April 24.

The premiere comes on the heels of CJ E&M’s new partnership with the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which has included the series in its global girls education initiative.

DHX Media distributes Rainbow Ruby  in the US, Canada and EMEA, excluding France.
