A partnership with KidZania Singapore lets kids hone their acting chops by playing Nick characters.
April 15, 2016

Nickelodeon and kids entertainment company KidZania Singapore have partnered to launch the Nickelodeon Acting Academy and Theater.

Located in Sentosa, Singapore, the interactive space will give kids the chance to role-play as their favorite Nick characters, attend acting classes and experience performing in front of a live audience.

TheĀ goal of the Academy is also to help promoteĀ confidence in aspiring actors as they hone their performance skills.

From April to June, kids will have the opportunity to be cast in A Foot Too Big, which is based on Nickelodeon’s long-running hit series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and then from July to September in Free Samples, which is inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants.

For their efforts, kids will be paid a salary in kidZos—KidZania’s own currency—after each performance. They will also have the opportunity to attend meet and greets with Nick characters and take home exclusive goodie bags.

Each theater team leader, dubbed a “zupervisor,” is experienced in performing arts and has studied at Singapore’s Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
