German children’s channel KiKA has come on-board to help co-produce the animated preschool series Super Wings from South Korea’s FunnyFlux Entertainment and CJ E&M, US-based Little Airplane Productions, China’s Qianqi Animation and Korean pubcaster EBS.
The channel will also broadcast the series exclusively across Germany, Switzerland and Austria in 2017.
Super Wings (52 x 11 minutes) follows the adventures of Jett, a self-assured jet plane that travels around the world delivering special packages to children.
Since its debut on EBS in 2014, the series has been sold into more than 40 countries worldwide, including the US, where the IP’s toy line will launch in October.
The deal follows news of Corus-owned Nelvana coming on board to rep the series in France. Nelvana Enterprises already reps CP rights for Super Wings in North America in all categories except toys, which is handled by Imports Dragon in Canada and Auldey Toys in the US.
