Following a deal with Beyond Distribution, CBBC children’s series The Dengineers has been sold to Discovery Family Channel in the US.
The 11 x half-hour home makeover series, produced in-house by CBBC Productions for the UK kids channel, features expert designers Mark Wright and Lauren Layfield, who construct dream dens for children. The factual entertainment show has also inspired Den Hacks, which let kids across the UK share their ideas and exchange tips of their own within an online setting.
The acquisition on the part of Discovery Family Channel (formerly The Hub Network) falls in line with the net’s goal to strengthen its co-viewing strategies with a broader focus on family-friendly, real-world programs during primetime.
