Former Disney retail exec Soo Koo has been appointed chief creative officer at Warner Bros. Consumer Products, effective immediately.
Koo will report to WBCP president Pam Lifford─the former Quicksilver EVP who took the reins in February following the departure of longtime division head Brad Globe.
In her new role, Koo will drive the global strategy for all product design and development for the company’s portfolio of properties, which includes DC Comics, Harry Potter and animated classics like Looney Tunes and Scooby-Doo.
Prior to joining WBCP, Koo was North American VP of creative for fashion and home at Disney Consumer Products and Disney Stores, where she spearheaded creative strategies across apparel, accessories, footwear, beauty and home. During her tenure at Disney, Koo forged retail, design and licensing partnerships with Forever 21, Vans, Stella McCartney, Sephora and Marc Jacobs.
Koo’s arrival comes as WBCP continues to focus its attention on DC characters and Harry Potter-driven licenses.
