UK pubcaster CBBC has commissioned a second season of Danger Mouse, the revamped children’s series that’s part of FremantleMedia Kids & Family’s five-year co-pro partnership with BBC Children’s.

After a 22-year hiatus, Danger Mouse made its return to TV last September on CBBC and has since been sold to more than 100 territories. Last month, the show made its way to Netflix in North America, Latin America, Benelux the Nordics, Poland Italy and Japan.

The series, which is animated by Ireland’s Boulder Media, features the vocal talents of Alexander Armstrong and Kevin Eldon as Danger Mouse and his trusty sidekick Penfold, respectively, along with British stars like Dave Lamb, Stephen Fry, Morwenna Banks and Shauna Macdonald.

FremantleMedia Kids & Family owns global TV and licensing rights to the series.

Originally produced by Cosgrove Hall Films, Danger Mouse ran on British commercial broadcaster ITV from 1981 to 1992.
