It looks like more northern exposure is in store for Disney’s Frozen franchise.

The House of Mouse has announced Frozen Northern Lights, a new original story from the kingdom of Arendelle that spans a book collection, animated shorts from The Lego Group as well as digital extensions.

The collection entitled Disney Frozen Northern Lights: Journey to the Lights, published by Random House, will be introduced as a deluxe novelization next month. The stories will feature the familiar faces of the 2013 blockbuster film, as well as a new protagonist named Little Rock.

The books’ storylines will be reimagined by Lego through four new animated shorts─led by voice talents from the original film─that will air on Disney Channel this fall.

And to mark the debut of Frozen Northern Lights, the brand’s website will be updated with activities tied to the new story. Disney will also launch a Frozen-inspired Instagram account @DisneyFrozen.

With US$1.27 billion at the global box office and the highest-grossing animated feature ever on its hands, Disney has actively kept the Frozen spirit alive. The movie made its debut on Disney Channel earlier this year and a new live show, Frozen – Live at the Hyperion, opened at the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure Park last month. A Broadway musical inspired by the film is scheduled to open in New York in 2018.  The franchise continues to have a postive impact on Disney Consumer Products’ bottom line, as well as the global licensed toy industry as a whole.
