VidCon: Flipagram attracts 200M users, young creators

With online video conference VidCon kicking off today in Anaheim, California, digital story network Flipagram has announced that it has surpassed 200 million users.

To date, nearly 500 million Flipagram video stories have been created, comprising more than 13 billion photo and video moments.

The app lets its users create, edit and share music videos, slideshows and stories using photos, videos and free licensed music.

With regards to the latter, the app has inked global music licensing deals that enable the use of 60-second song clips from music publishers and labels. And more than four billion video views of Flipagram photo and video moments are taking place on the platform and across other social media sites like Instagram and Facebook on a daily basis.

In terms of younger-skewing creators, Flipagram stars gaining traction on the app and via other social media sites include Jacci (pictured), a teen creator from Northern California specializing in stop-motion videos, Pink Furs, a three-teenage-sister rock band from Southern California, pop singer, songwriter and guitarist Derik Fein, and Legendary Shots, a young male group known for its sports content.
