The call for submissions for the 2016 Shaw Rocket Prize is now open, with this year’s total prize pot of CDN$75,000 recognizing the best independently produced Canadian media experience across any device.

The 11th edition of the Prize marks the first time projects will be awarded based on votes from an international jury and Canadian kids for the best digital experience, including how the TV-based IP is extended across games, websites and social media.

Three prizes of CDN$25,000 will be awarded to the winners in each of three categories—preschool (0 to 5), children (six to 12) and youth/family (13 to 17).

August 24, 2016 is the deadline for submissions. More information on how to register can be found here.

The Shaw Rocket Fund, which recently partnered with UK-based digital incubator Wildseed Studios on a Canadian online talent and IP development initiative called Startoon, aims to support the best in Canadian kids television programming and digital content.
