Aimed to inform and encourage kids’ healthy lifestyle choices, Disney Channels Worldwide has introduced a short-form programming campaign featuring popular characters from shows like The Lion Guard, Miles from Tomorrowland and Star Wars Rebels.
Premiering today and followed by a daily rotating schedule across Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior, the short-form content is part of the Mouse House’s company-wide Healthy Living Commitment initiative designed to help parents and kids live healthier lives.
Among the new content for Disney Junior is Teke Ruka Teleza (kick, jump, slide), a new workout video for kids ages two to seven that is hosted by Dancing with the Stars children’s instructor Paige Peterson.
For other preschool shows, yoga-themed animated series Training with the Guard will air from October 3. It features characters from Disney Junior’s The Lion Guard, including Rafiki, Kion, Beshte, Fuli, Ono and Bunga.
Prior to Training with the Guard‘s debut, animated short Be Your Best with Miles will launch on September 24. The program motivates kids to make smart decisions like the show’s star Miles of the hit series Miles from Tomorrowland.
Content heading to kids ages six to 14 on Disney Channel includes animated series The Adventures of Papchu and Dr. Kapatoo from creator David Calcano of Fantoons Animation Studio. Premiering September 26, the series features music-based stories that follow kids on daily school or sports challenges made easier by following balanced and nutritious eating plans.
Also premiering September 26, but on Disney XD, is a series from SlimJim Studios’ motion graphic designer James Curran and producer Partizan called Improve Your Selfie (pictured).
The animated GIF-inspired series stars Disney XD characters from shows including Star Wars Rebels, Star vs. The Forces of Evil, Future-Worm! and Gravity Falls.
