Littlstar, a 2015 Disney Accelerator participant, is creating a Littlstar Family app for Mattel’s View-Master that will allow users with an Apple or Android smartphone to experience curated 360-degree environments and stories from some of their favorite brands.

Littlstar is dedicated to immersive virtual reality and 360-degree video, and the global network’s content library is available through its apps for the web, iOS, Android, VR headsets and Apple TV.

The Littlstar Family app for View-Master will feature content from National Geographic, Disney, Bento Box Entertainment and Discovery Channel.

Mattel introduced its modern take on the View-Master—which uses Google’s Cardboard technology—last year.

Since then, Mattel has worked steadily to expand its reach into immersive content. Recently, the company partnered with OTOY to create a virtual reality Batman experience for the View-Master platform. The content, based on Warner Bros. Animation’s Batman: The Animated Series, will launch worldwide this fall.

Also this month, Mattel announced its collaboration with StartApp to develop digital experiences for a number of its brands, including Barbie and Hot Wheels. The agreement will see StartApp act as Mattel’s premier licensee to create digital stickers, emojis, wallpapers, GIFs, app themes, avatars, memes and related apps.
