BBC Scotland Learning has commissioned an audio series for BBC School Radio from Glasgow-based sound design shop Bigmouth Audio.
Once Upon a Time In Zombieville is an eight-part audio series created specifically for visually impaired children in the six to 11 demo.
The eight x 10 minute audio series follows Jamie McSporran and his friends after an underground explosion dumps something strange in the water supply, causing the dead to rise again. Once Upon A Time In Zombieville features visually impaired and dyslexic characters, and focuses on subjects like inclusion.
Production begins in November and the series will be delivered in March 2017 for transmission later in the year.
Stephen Scott and Philip Feenan will serve as executive producers, and Bigmouth Audio will provide sound design. Bigmouth Audio’s Glasgow-based sister company Elba Studios will provide the series’ original music while voice recording for principle characters will be carried out by Bigmouth Audio’s Toronto-based partner studio Junior Joe.
