US streaming service Hulu is bolstering content for its upcoming live TV streaming service, with new affiliate deals inked with The Walt Disney Company and 21st Century Fox.
Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior, as well as Disney’s suite of networks from Disney/ABC Television Group and ESPN, will be available live and on-demand when the service launches in early 2017.
Freeform, FX, FXX, FXM, National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild will also be offered.
Disney joins Turner kids channels Cartoon Network and Boomerang, which were added to Hulu as part of a deal with Time Warner earlier this year.
Hulu’s new offering will complement its existing ad-supported and ad-free SVOD services. It will include no set-up costs or installation and provide an intuitive and personalized interface that delivers instant access to live and on-demand premium content.
The streamer recently purchased the exclusive rights to more than 500 episodes of past seasons from Disney’s suite of networks, along with 20 original movies from the House of Mouse.
