Mickey and the Roadster Racers, a new original animated series starring the iconic character and a fleet of transforming vehicles, will debut on Disney Channel and Disney Junior US on January 15. Two additional episodes will air on Disney Channel the following day.
The eps will also be available on VOD and iTunes, as well as on the Disney Junior App—which is launching preliminary Mickey and the Roadster Racers mini-games and videos on December 25.
Rolling out internationally throughout 2017, the show will be supported by toys, storybooks, apparel, plush and home décor from Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media.
Mickey and the Roadster Racers follows the famous mouse and his well-known friends, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto and Goofy, as they transform vehicles and race them around the globe. It features several high-profile guest stars like Jay Leno, Tim Gunn, Hoda Kotb and Gordon Ramsay, as well as NASCAR stars Jimmie Johnson, Danica Patrick and Jeff Gordon.
Rob LaDuca and Mark Seidenberg are teaming up as executive producers, after working together on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
The premiere follows several recent programming moves made by Disney Junior, including renewing Doc McStuffins for a fifth season and announcing it will be bringing Muppet Babies back to TV in 2018.
