SuperAwesome extends PopJam to third-party sites

The beta-launch gives publishers and developers access to the kid-safe, Facebook-like social experience on their own websites and apps for the first time.

Furthering its commitment to the digital privacy of under-13s, SuperAwesome has launched PopJam PLATFORM>, an extension of its popular kid-safe social content app that will give third-party content owners and developers access to the COPPA-compliant social experience on their own sites and apps.

The beta launch of the PopJam PLATFORM> has already been used by companies in the UK and the US, including Hasbro, Roald Dahl, Genius Brands (SpacePOP), Fun Kids Live, First News and Grom Social.

PopJam PLATFORM> will be available to all approved kids content owners in the first quarter of 2017.

The expanded infrastructure lets new developer and publisher partners embed the full PopJam customized and interactive content feed, including user-generated content and fan art, into their own web and app destinations, while existing PopJam partners can do the same via the PopJam partner tool.

PLATFORM> also includes a video player for COPPA-compliant embedded video and kid-safe live game-streaming, as well as additional monetization opportunities for third parties through SuperAwesome’s ads.

Future updates will include COPPA-compliant authentication and parental verification.

The launch comes on the heels of PopJam’s US debut on iOS and Android mobile devices, and its mark of more than one million users in the app’s native UK.

Since its introduction in early 2014, more than 100 channels from partners including Disney, Nintendo, Rovio and Penguin have launched on PopJam.
