Educational kids SVOD app Hopster has launched on Roku streaming services and TVs in the US, Canada, France, the UK and Ireland.
It will be available in English as well as French in France. Free to download from the Roku Channel store, the app includes a one-week trial, before a monthly US$5.99 subscription fee kicks in.
Hopster houses TV series (Peppa Pig, Teletubbies, Reading Rainbow and Monster Math Squad), along with games and licensed content, and is currently used by more than one million families worldwide. It has been available since 2013 for mobile, tablet and select smart TVs, but the Roku deal expands the service’s reach significantly. (It only became available in the US in August 2016.)
The move follows Sony Pictures’ recent investment in Hopster, as well as a Fingerprint collaboration with Samsung Kids.
