Channel 5’s Milkshake! has ordered up new preschool series Shane the Chef from London-based Hoho Entertainment and Welsh prodco Cloth Cat Animation.
The commission comes as Channel 5 continues to ramp up its Milkshake! content slate, after ordering a fourth season of Little Princess and second seasons of Toby’s Travelling Circus and Wissper.
Premiering this fall, the 52 x 11-minute series follows chef Shane and his daughter Izzy as they get up to foodie adventures while running a restaurant. It has received production funding from Creative Europe and the Children’s Food Trust.
The focus on original commissions comes after Sarah Muller left BBC Children’s to become head of children’s programming at Channel 5 with a focus on acquiring and commissioning new programming for the channel.
