The sixth-annual Asian Animation Summit will once again take place in Brisbane, Australia this year from November 29 to December 1.

Owned and produced by Kidscreen, the summit will showcase more than 20 animated projects from Australia, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and beyond, all of which have never been to market.

Roughly 250 attendees are anticipated at the upcoming event, which is designed to attract animation producers interested in co-producing projects with partners in Asia-Pacific, as well as global broadcasters, distributors and investors.

The three-day summit will also feature panel discussions and presentations that explore new market trends, business models and creative techniques that are relevant to Asian-Pacific producers.

AAS 2017 is an initiative of KOCCA (Korea), MDeC (Malaysia) and SIPA/DITP (Thailand). It is hosted by Screen Queensland and Brisbane Marketing, and supported by AINAKI (Animation & Content Industry Association of Indonesia).

The return to Brisbane follows the success of last year’s AAS, which drew presence from Netflix Kids and YouTube Kids, and screened standouts like Brisbane-based Ludo Studio’s Bluey and Tido from Malaysia’s The Commonist.
