Toronto-based Cuppa Coffee Studios (Starveillance, Life’s a Zoo) and the UK’s Polybank Designs have inked a development deal for Pets Rocka new animated series based on Polybank’s US$60-million licensing brand that meshes animal imagery with pop culture.

The concept will be unveiled prior to MIPCOM, which takes place in mid-October.

Following in the footsteps of other popular animated canine-themed series like Taffy, Dog Loves Books and Rocket Dog, the series is hoping to capitalize on a new study showing that kids love their pets more than their siblings.
