Barcelona-based distributor GoldBee has sold Sardine Productions’ brand new animated comedy series ToonMarty to Nickelodeon for its international channels and digital platforms, excluding North America, China and Japan.

The 40 x 11-minute series from the Montreal studio (Chop Chop Ninja Challenge, Leon) is set in a world where all cartoons live, Toonville, and follows the slapstick adventures of the town’s biggest busybody.

Originally commissioned by Canada’s Corus Entertainment, ToonMarty will premiere on Corus’ French and English Teletoon networks in May 2017.

Investors in the series include The Bell Fund, The Canadian Media Fund and The Shaw Rocket Fund.
