Entertainment One (eOne) continues to strengthen its operations in Latin America with a number of new licensing agreements.
As the Peppa Pig brand gains in popularity, eOne has tapped eight new toy partners to debut ranges at the Abrin Toy Fair in São Paulo this month. The new licensees include master toy partner DTC as well as Elka, Estrela, Grow, Lider, Sunny and Toyster.
Peppa Pig airs daily on Discovery Kids Latin America and has already sold more than 2.5 million books and two million toys in Brazil to date.
eOne series PJ Masks, meanwhile, airs twice daily on Disney Junior in Brazil. Merchandise inspired by the show will launch in the region this July beginning with Just Play’s master toy line, which will be distributed by DTC. Additional licensing partners for PJ Masks include Topps (sticker albums), Regina Festas (partyware), Dermiwil (back to school) and Lupo (socks and underwear).
Airing daily on TV Cultura and Nick Jr, Ben and Holly’s Little Kindgom will also launch at retail in Brazil this year. MultiKids has been tapped as master toy distributor for the brand, with additional licensing partners including Panini (publishing), Piffer (partyware), Regina Festas (partyware) and Dermiwil (back to school).
eOne is also strengthening its LatAm presence with the appointment of Bruna Sawada as regional territory manager for Brazil.
In her newly created role, Sawada will manage eOne’s portfolio of TV properties in the region and execute localized strategies to expand eOne’s footprint in Brazil.
Sawada will be based in the company’s new São Paulo office and will report to Murilo Hinojosa, head of consumer products for the LatAm region.
