After scoring a 50-episode CBeebies order for its new series Moon and Me, Bento Box Entertainment’s kids and family division Sutikki is ramping up geographically, too, with the opening of a UK-based office.
Led by former CPLG exec Stephen Gould (pictured), Sutikki UK will open its doors this summer to focus on the EMEA region.
Gould’s initial focus will be growing licensing opportunities for Foundling Bird preschool co-pro Moon and Me, which will premiere in early 2018 on the UK pubcaster CBeebies.
Previously, Gould served as MD for the UK and Eire at DHX-owned CPLG, where he worked on a portfolio that included Minions, The Secret Life of Pets, Teletubbies, In the Night Garden, Twirlywoos and Care Bears. His new role sees him team up with Sutikki founders Andrew Kerr and Irene Weibel, who launched the company last October as Bento Box’s first kids division.
Sutikki, which holds non-UK broadcast distribution rights for Moon and Me and is its primary global licensor, is actively pursuing additional licensing opportunities for the property. Hasbro has already been announced as global master toy licensee.
