The Fall 2016 Gaming Challenge from Hasbro and Indiegogo has named family-friendly concept Cloud Control as its grand prize winner.

The challenge gave indie game designers in the US,UK, France, Germany and Canada (excluding Quebec) a platform to promote and develop their ideas with help from the Rhode Island-based toyco and the crowdfunding website. The submissions were then evaluated by a team of experts at Hasbro, which looked at game play, theme and viability.

Cloud Control was created by Eugene Bryant of Suwanee, Georgia, and allows kids to turn, twist, overlap and animate cards to form clouds into recognizable shapes before time runs out.

Bryant will receive US$25,000 and a trip to Hasbro’s headquarters for advice and assistance from the company’s game development team. He will also have an opportunity to meet with FUBU founder and Shark Tank star Daymond John (pictured), who served as a guest judge.

Cloud Control was one of five finalists in the challenge. Each of the leading games ran crowdfunding campaigns that were promoted on Hasbro’s partner page on Indiegogo’s website. Altogether, more than US$22,000 was raised across all five campaigns. (Cloud Campaign raised more than US$6,700 from 180 backers.)

The Game Challenge launched in 2015 and received more than 500 submissions in its inaugural year. The 2015 Challenge saw the winning Mr. Toast Game come to life as a card game that’s currently sold globally.
