AwesomenessTV, the Gen Z-focused venture between Comcast-owned DreamWorks Animation and Verizon Hearst Media Partners, has opened a new London office in order to keep up with its European growth. The company has also made two new hires to work out of the new European digs.

As MD, former Red Bull exec Mark Joseph will be responsible for international growth and development of the AwesomenessTV brand. He is tasked with localizing the digital studio for Gen Z audiences in Europe by developing original content for YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram. Joseph will also develop commercial brand partnerships.

Zachary Slatter (pictured) has been tapped as head of European distribution, reporting to global distribution head Rebecca Glashow. Slatter will focus on creating additional partnerships with linear networks, SVOD platforms and OTT platforms. Most recently, he was VP of international new media at NBCUniversal.

The deal follows AwesomenessTV’s content pact with ITV in the UK last summer, at which time ITV Studios announced a collaboration on new youth-focused original series for global markets.
