Corus Entertainment’s Treehouse channel has picked up the first two seasons of Masha and the Bear, which will premiere on April 15 at 10:30 am. The toon, created by Oleg Kuzovkov and produced by Moscow-based Animaccord Animation Studio, will continue to air regularly on Sundays at 10:55 am.
To date, Masha and the Bear has aired in more than 100 countries, including in Canada on Corus-owned Teletoon and on French public educational channel Tele Quebec.
The series has been a hit in Europe, where Simba Dickie Group serves as master toy licensee. Spin Master is the brand’s master toy licensee in North America, where Masha has been streaming on Netflix as of last June.
Animaccord has started production on the show’s third season, with new episodes expected to bow in mid-2018.
