CBeebies series Go Jetters is flying to China’s CCTV, following a deal with BBC Worldwide that will bring the show’s first season to the state broadcaster’s 1.1 billion viewers.

Premiering in May on children’s channel CCTV-14, the 50-episode series will be fully dubbed in Mandarin and subtitled in simplified Chinese.

On top of its linear TV debut, the show will be available on the recently launched CBeebies block on online platform iQIYI, as well as on IPTV platform BesTV in June. In August, it will bow on digital platforms Tencent and Youku.

Go Jetters follows four heroes as they travel the world with their teacher, who is a disco-dancing unicorn. The comedy is aimed at four- to six-year-olds, and combines music, gadgets, geography and culture to teach preschoolers about the world.

The show’s first season, which premiered in the UK on CBeebies in October 2015, currently airs on global broadcasters including ABC Kids Australia, RTE Eire, France Televisions and Treehouse Canada.

The sale follows on the heels of CBeebies commissioning 50 new episodes and a 22-minute TV special of the series.
