CBBC is reviving the live-TV Saturday morning format with the launch of Live & Dangerous (working title) this September.

A BBC Children’s Presentation production, the 12 x 120-minute show aimed at six to 12s will broadcast live from MediaCityUK in Manchester every weekend. It will include viewer interaction, where kids at home will be able to quiz pop stars and play games using CBBC digital platforms. Live & Dangerous will also feature celebrity guest, games, sketches, gunge (the UK version of slime) and episodes of other CBBC shows.

No human hosts have been announced, but puppet Hacker T. Dog (pictured) will be involved in some capacities throughout the show.

Live & Dangerous follows in the footsteps of classic BBC Saturday morning programs like Going Live! (1987 to 1993), Saturday Superstore (1982 to 1987) and Multi-Coloured Swap Shop (1976 to 1982). Its greenlight comes as CBBC continues to find success with its live-action shows, recently teaming up with DHX to create Creeped Out and selling the Marrying Mum and Dad format to Sweden.
