Spain-based Imira Entertainment has signed a Latin American sales distribution deal with Disney XD for Larva. The agreement with the boy-skewing channel covers all four seasons of the animated comedy.

Larva is produced by South Korea’s TUBA n and airs on Korean public broadcaster KBS. The short-format series follows the adventures of two worms named Red and Yellow. Since its launch in 2012, the toon has aired in more than 150 countries. A 90-minute feature film–Larva The Movie–is currently in production and is set to be released worldwide in 2019.

Earlier this year, TUBA n tapped DHX Media-owned WildBrain to globally manage the Larva TUBA channel on YouTube. The multiplatform kids network exclusively helms the channel, providing content production services as well as audience development expertise.

Off-screen, the IP has inspired more than 1,000 SKUs of consumer products by 100-plus licensees, mostly in Asia. The brand is looking to debut merch in both North America and Latin America in 2018.
