As PAW Patrol continues to boost Spin Master Entertainment’s bottom line—and Nickelodeon’s viewership numbers—the preschool brand is gearing up for a brand-new live-stage production courtesy of the US kidsnet and VStar Entertainment Group.
PAW Patrol Live! The Great Pirate Adventure will follow the heroes from the animated preschool series as a secret treasure map leads them on an epic adventure.
The music-filled live show will begin touring in the US in October and will roll out internationally in 2018. The North American tour will travel to more than 135 cities and tickets for the production will go on sale beginning June 16.
The IP’s first live show, PAW Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue, will also continue to tour through 2018. Earlier this year, Nickelodeon and VStar Entertainment Group announced that Race to the Rescue would make its way to the UK and Ireland, and, according to Nickelodeon, The Great Pirate Adventure is launching in response to massive demand from fans.
The news comes as the preschool property continues to perform well for Toronto, Canada-based Spin Master, which posted a 41% lift in revenue for the first quarter of 2017. Gross Q1 product sales for the company’s Preschool and Girls segment went up 6.6% to US$84.7 million, driven largely by PAW Patrol.
The new production will face stiff competition from a number of recently announced live shows, including Time to Be a Hero!, based on Entertainment One’s animated series PJ Masks, and the new Shopkins Live! show inspired by Moose Toys’ hit collectibles line (both of which are set to launch in the US this fall).
