GoldieBlox is getting real with its first live-action scripted YouTube series. The California-based multimedia company is launching two new ongoing web series—Hack Along with Goldie Blox (pictured) and Scrappy Robots with Simone Giertz—that encourage kids to engage with STEM.

Hack Along with Goldie Blox follows fictitious character Goldie as she engineers and hacks everyday object to make fun and functional inventions. Upcoming episodes—which will air every Friday—feature hacks inspired by summer vacation, back-to-school and DIY room décor.

The second new series, Scrappy Robots with Simone Giertz, features Goldie’s friend Simone and her popular robot inventions. New episodes of the show will be available on YouTube every Thursday. Giertz is also host of GoldieBlox’s first web series, Toy Hackers, which debuted last year. The series has more than 4.1 million views.

Since the launch of Toy Hackers, GoldieBlox has continued to build its brand beyond construction sets with new products and play experiences.

Earlier this year, GoldieBlox announced the launch of a new series of chapter books. Licensee Random House Children’s Books and its Books for Young Readers imprint will release Goldie Blox Ruins Rules the School and Goldie Blox and the Three Dares this September. The books, written by Stacy McAnulty, are aimed at kids ages six to nine and focus on the company’s passion for inventing and engineering.

Since its founding in 2012, GoldieBlox has seen more than one million app downloads and one million-plus toys sold across 6,000 major retailers globally.
