Nickelodeon is getting its longest-running kids series into the Halloween spirit with new stop-motion special SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom.
Bowing in October, the special follows the Flying Dutchman (voiced by Brian Doyle Murrary), who is trying to scare everyone in town, especially SpongeBob. It is produced by L.A.-based stop-motion animation production company, Screen Novelties, which animated 2012’s SpongeBob SquarePants: It’s a SpongeBob Christmas!
The news comes as SpongeBob gears up for a third movie from Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies, as well as its 12th season on air. The show’s 11th season will premiere this summer.
